The word Fitr means the same as Iftar, breaking a fast and comes from the same root as Futoor, which means breakfast. Therefore, the Islamic Zakah al-Fitr is the name given to charity that is distributed towards the end of Ramadan. The amount of Zakah is the same for everyone, regardless of the different income levels. The minimum amount is a Saa (two handfuls) of food, grain or dried fruit for each family member. This calculation is based on the report by Ibn Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) made Zakah al-Fitr obligatory and payable for a Saa of dried dates or a Saa of barley. Comrade Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree said:”At the time of the Prophet, we used to give (Zakat al-Fitr) as a food Saa, dried dates, barley, raisins or dry cheese.”Animal point view:The nisab for sheep is 40. A person who has less than 40 sheep does not give zakat for them. A person who has 40 to 120 sheep gives only one sheep. Two sheep are given for 121 to 200 sheep. 3 sheep are given between 201 and 400 sheep. Four sheep are given for 400 sheep and one sheep is added for every hundred other sheep.A person who has 5 camels gives 1 sheep. A sheep will be assigned for a maximum of 9 camels (included). A person with 10 to 14 camels (included) gives 2 sheep. You have to give 3 sheep for 15 to 19 camels (included) and 4 for 20 to 24. For 25 or 35 camels a camel is given which is in its second year. From 36 to 45 camels a young camel is given in his third year. From 46 to 60 camels there is a female camel who is in her fourth year and can carry a load.
