Robert Edward Lee was born in Stradford in January 19, 1807. His
male parent was Light Horse Henry. He had three brothers and two sisters, yet he
was the youngest. His household was besides was really rich.
Robert E. Lee went to United States Military Academy. He spent much

and devotedness. He graduated in 1829. He had a high award at West Point, he

In the Spring of 1864 Lee first met Grant in conflict. There was a series
of bloody conflicts called the Wilderness run. Grant destroy the
Confederates with big forces and guns. Finally in 1865 Lee became general
and head of all Confederate forces. After General Johnston was
wounded, Lee became a General. Lee helped be after many conflicts such as when
they fought General Burnside.
Richmond fell in April 1865, Lee? s ground forces retreated west ward. The
north surrounded the Confederates. Lee surrendered on April 9th, 1865.
Grant tried to do the resignation easy. Grant allowed the Confederate soldiers
to take their Equus caballuss place for spring ploughing. Lee said, ? It is good that war is so
awful or we would turn to fond of it. Lee made his last sit down enemy
