COMPLETED PRELIMINARY DRAFT Turn in a COMPLETE 15 page preliminary draft. This means 15 pages of WRITING. Your paper should include a title page, abstract, introduction, literature review and discussion, conclusion and reference page. Make sure the in-text citations and reference page are in APA style. The reason this is a COMPLETED preliminary draft is because I need to be able to read a finished paper and get it back to you for corrections and edits as needed. If you, for example, only turn in 10 of 15 pages, and those pages are not “up to par,” you will likely make a failing grade; but more importantly, if you do not turn in a complete paper for me to help you edit and correct, then the chances of the final paper not being “up to par” and passable are highly increased. Plagiarism detection using turnitin.com is enabled for this assignment. You do not have to do anything. When you put your draft in the dropbox, it will automatically be sent to turnitin.com. You will be able to view your originality report shortly after you turn in your assignment. Your score should be 25% or less. Please submit your reference page in a separate file. Grade Breakdown: Content, both quality and quantity: __/40 Well-written, good grammar and mechanics: __/20 Well-organized – Flows well, headers and headings, page numbers: __/20 Title page, abstract, and reference page are present and of reasonable quality : __/10 In-text references and reference page in correct APA format: __/10 TOTAL: __/100 In this module, you will learn to evaluate sources to establish their relevance and reliability. For your paper, you must have 10 relevant and reliable sources and at least 5 of them must be from academic or scholarly sources. Read Chapters 5 and 6 of The Craft of Research, using the Chapters 5-6 PowerPoint as your reading guide. You will also learn about the American Psychological Associations style of reference citation and formatting. APA is the most popular citation style in the social sciences and is used in many other fields as well. This is the reason we use it in senior project. If you are planning to go on to graduate school, this is good preparation. You should review your text, APA Made Easy. The first chapters of the book describe how to format the paper using various word processors; you only need to read the chapter regarding the word processor you will be using. If you are using one not described here, read the Word 2013 chapter because that’s what is used on the public computers here at UOM. That will give you the formatting information you need; you will just have to figure out the keystrokes and menus for your word processor. This book is a very short and easy read. Familiarize yourself with it so you can refer to it as you write your paper. Now would be a good time to contact our embedded librarian for assistance with sources and APA formatting. His or her contact information is on the “Ask a Librarian” discussion board. My students always find working with the librarian to be a productive experience and I encourage you to do so. Please review the Purdue OWL APA resources and take the Module 4 Quiz.  In order to prove your thesis, you must present an argument. An academic argument in not a disagreement between opposing sides, but rather the organized presentation of a viewpoint. You must prove your thesis or claim by presenting reasons and evidence .  FINAL PAPER Your final paper is due with all the parts including title page, abstract, 15-page paper, references (your bibliography), and any appendices. Do not stop checking your university email after you submit this paper. Your instructor may try to contact you if there is a problem with your paper. Review the Final Paper Rubric for detailed point values. ** Please note that I have done all of the assignments up to Module 9 The Preliminary Draft. I can forward all prior assignments and the comments from the Professor on what need to be corrected. Module 1: Introduction to Academic Writing Module 2: The Topic Statement Module 3: The Problem Statement Module 4: Sources and APA Formatting Module 5: Arguments, Claims, & Evidence Module 6: The Research Proposal Module 7: The Outline Module 8: Planning, Drafting & Revising Module 9: The Preliminary Draft Module 10: The Final Pape4

Meat is a good source of nutrients, including protein, iron, and zinc, and can be a valuable part of a healthy diet. However, the type and amount of meat that a person consumes can have different effects on their health.

Eating large amounts of red and processed meat has been linked to an increased risk of certain health problems, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. This is thought to be due, at least in part, to the high levels of saturated fat and sodium found in these types of meat.

On the other hand, replacing some of the red and processed meat in the diet with plant-based protein sources, such as beans, lentils, and tofu, or with lean sources of animal protein, such as chicken or fish, may be associated with a reduced risk of these health problems.

It’s also important to note that the way in which meat is cooked can affect its nutritional content and impact on health. For example, grilling or broiling meat at high temperatures can produce chemicals called heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which have been linked to an increased risk of cancer. To reduce the formation of these chemicals, it’s recommended to use lower cooking temperatures or to cook meat using methods such as boiling or steaming.

While meat can be a nutritious and delicious part of a healthy diet, it’s important to pay attention to the type and amount of meat that you eat, as well as the way it is prepared.
