Practice collecting nursing histories on my own, with feedback from my clinical instructor.

Nursing Theory

The nursing theory that I will use to guide my clinical practice is Hildegard Peplau’s Interpersonal Theory of Nursing. This theory is based on the idea that the nurse-patient relationship is the foundation of nursing care. The nurse and patient work together to achieve the patient’s goals, and the nurse uses their interpersonal skills to create a safe and supportive environment for the patient.

Counseling/Psychotherapy Theory

The counseling/psychotherapy theory that I will use to guide my clinical practice is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on changing the patient’s thoughts and behaviors. CBT has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Peplau’s Interpersonal Theory of Nursing:
