We will examine the strengths and weaknesses of each country’s health policies, explore how social determinants of health influence the selected global health issue, analyze the impact of the policies on the health of the global population, and assess the implications for nursing practices in both countries.

Global Health Issue: Maternal Mortality Reduction

Country: United States

Policy Description:
In the United States, the policy for maternal mortality reduction revolves around improving access to quality prenatal care, skilled birth attendants, and postpartum support. Initiatives focus on enhancing women’s access to reproductive health services and addressing risk factors contributing to maternal deaths, such as chronic conditions and substance abuse (CDC, 2020).

Strengths:
The policy emphasizes comprehensive care during pregnancy, which helps identify and manage maternal health risks promptly.

Weaknesses:
