Statistical paper 4 page with requirements

Assessment Brief This is part of an ongoing project, this is some of the information that I have used and the references that I will be including. This list may be helpful to you in this paper but they only have to be listed if they are used by you. Texts must be in text & on reference page according to APA 6th edition.–For this written assignment you will be setting up a proposal for a study that would revolve around a quantitative design that uses statistical analysis. For this assignment you will be describing your population, setting up a realistic design and methodology, explaining your statistical tools, and evaluating the importance of the analyses.  You will be describing things related to the timeline of the study, measurement of the variables, data analysis, and participant information.  Try to put together a thoughtful proposal that makes sense.  Do not try to get too complicated and go into areas that you are not familiar with.  For example, do not propose that you will be usingcluster analysistechniques if you have never used this statistical technique before.  It is quite advanced and would require a thorough and complex design.  Keep it simple and within the realm of your experience and knowledge.I have only completed 1 class of statistics so, I only have a basic understanding and would not know anything too complicated. You will not actually be carrying out this statistical project.  You are only being asked to set up a general plan for how you might go about doing it if you actually needed to. For this assignment you should keep in mind the following general elements that are required to be addressed in the final paper:  •The population segment selected. Elderly abused  Who are they?  What do they have in common?  Etc.   •The personal, professional, and ethical implications of social issues on society.  •The one or more social issues that affect the chosen population segment.  •The statistics and background data to document the social issues.  •At least two of the most significant challenges to solving the two social issues chosen.  •Inclusion of the sociocultural factors contributing to the issues.  •A potential, statistical research project that directly relates to one or both of the two issues  that you have identified  in relation to your chosen population segment. As in all papers, make sure that you include separate cover and reference pages.  The pages should all be formatted according to the APA writing guidelines.  All sources must be properly cited in the body of the work and referenced in the reference section.  The more thorough the paper is the better it will be.  For example, do not try to address all of these elements above in one or two pages.  This will not be thorough or complete.  The length of the paper should be at least three to four pages.  You should also keep in mind when writing this paper that everything is assessed on content, quality, completeness, effort, and the meeting of requirements.  This assignment will be due by the end of day 7. It is on Elderly Abuse and you references so far include:  Brandi, B. Social Policy Journal of New England, (35), 159-172  In the United States an estimated 4 million elderly people are victims of physical, psychological or other forms of abuse and neglect and these numbers are based only on the reported cases.  The participants of the evaluation will be aged 65 and older who require a caregiver in order to survive. The research will utilize random audits of living facilities and questionnaires for the individuals who require the help of caregiver in their lives across the United States for the period of 12 months.  In an attempt to understand a cognitive theory in abused elders I have been looking into the theory of learned helplessness. Many elderly individuals have been educated in the school of ‘hard knocks,’ They didn’t grow up riding to school on a bus, or driving a car but walking back and forth to school. They have been involved in wars, depressions, and political strife. Not very many of the elderly seeking caregivers today grew up with everything handed to them and many of them worked before they became teenagers. They have their morals and they have their pride in everything that they have accomplished, unfortunately they also tie their current value to their current life and they find themselves lacking. No job and an inability to continue working make them feel inferior and no longer able to care for their selves’; they feel they are a burden on society. I find this theory intriguing because I could understand how an elderly individual would begin to believe that they are better off in their current situation because nobody else would be willing to care for them. One of the problems that many elderly individuals face is a hopelessness of their dependency. Seniors think differently than many individuals today as well as those from the past. Before, there was the idea that elderly individuals had fulfilled their purpose, while working hard, and therefore deserved to be taken care of in their old age. Younger people today believe that if they work, they will have enough to live off of until they pass away or that their children owe them a decent life. However, the seniors we have now seem to believe that without work and a steady income to provide them with status, they are a burden that must be taken in and cared for. They feel shame because they feel that they are less than they were when they were contributing to society. This has aided in the theory of learned helplessness whereas elderly individuals become dependent upon their caregivers. Elderly individuals who are abused may become passive of the maltreatment because they have no one else willing to care for them; they are therefore unwilling to search for a change because they feel they are stuck with who is currently caring for them. Before I had theorized that caregivers were aggressive because they felt stuck in a role where they had to take care of an elderly person or couldn’t get away from one for personal time. According to (Meyer, 2010)”The frustration-aggression hypothesis proposes that frustration causes the drive to aggress, and that aggression is the result of frustration.”
