For effective healtheducation, the nurse will needs to create a trusting environment, and for thisto be accomplished, there needs to be assessment of the patient , know thepatient likes, and dislikes, what the patient is comfortable with when it comesto words and sentences to be used during the teaching, and more especially payattention to patient body language and facial expression . Healthcare providers overcome differing pointsof view regarding health promotion and disease prevention with this example:  72 year old female was brought from home to the emergency room with active bleeding,according to the information obtained from daughter, she stated that patientcame from west Africa 5 days ago, religion Jehovah witness, doesn’t speak orunderstand English, after all blood  and diagnostic test , the patient was diagnosed with cervical cancer withhemoglobin of 5.7. In this scenario, the healthcare team needs to consider 3things for effective healing and promotion of health. Language line orinterpreter should be made available for patient for effective communicationthroughout hospital stay. Secondly, hemoglobin of 5.7 the family and patientneeds to be educated on alternate means of building up the blood withnutritionist and some medication. Thirdly ,the patient will need all supportshe will get from loved ones, priest, support groups from the community withthe help of social worker.  In conclusion, as nurses we need to understand that treatment of the same disease condition may be similarmedically, but will differ when it comes to beliefs and family values, that eachpatient has a specific needs which maybe spiritual or physical, and all needsto be considered during health promotion and illness prevention.
